Copyright?
Sometimes, in my many hours spent reading on the internet, I come across blogs or websites with photos or articles that I took/edited or wrote. More often than not, there were always be link backs to my site but out of these, some would claim it to be their own by not linking back to where it was originally from, or even reaping in compliments from their readers as if it were theirs.
I used to get frustrated and angry as I deem these things to be ‘my property’. But then Alhamdulillah one day, an Ustaz woke me up by saying that everything we have is actually Allah swt’s.
Whatever photo I took, the contents of that image are photos of Allah swt’s creations. Whatever picture I edited or article I wrote, the skills I had to accomplish it and the ‘ilm I was able to share, they were all from Allah swt. So which part of it exactly was ‘mine’? Everything that I thought was mine, is actually Allah’s.
So just to make it clear, feel free to take any of the photos I took/edited* and the articles I wrote* for your school assignment/facebook album or whatsoever. All I ask is for you to make a small du’a for me, that Allah swt will forgive me and accept my repentance, InsyaAllah.

*Please note I am talking about stuff which are ‘created’ by me, and not the stuff I reblog as those belong to others and not everyone will agree with my thoughts on the matter at hand :)
