The Prophet’s Prayer
… But the people of at-Ta’if immediately spread the news far and wide, and incited their riffraff to pelt him with stones. The assault was so bad that he had to take shelter behind a wall which belonged to the two sons of Rabi’ah. Bleeding heavily from the wounds inflicted by the stones, he looked up and beseeched His Lord,
“My Lord, to You I complain of my weakness, little resource and lowliness before men. O Most Merciful, You are the Lord of the weak, and You are my Lord. To whom will You confide me? To one afar who will misuse me? Or to an enemy to whom You have given power over me?
If you are not angry with me, I care not. Your favour is wider for me.
If I take refuge in the light of Your countenance by which the darkness is illuminated, and the things of this world and the next are rightly ordered, lest Your anger descend upon me or Your wrath light upon me. There is no power and no might except in You.”

SubhanAllah… How beautiful his words, how strong his character, how formidable his imaan! Our Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.! He did not ask for Allah’s wrath to be on them, neither did he ask for Allah to protect him! All he did was to accept what God has ordained for him! MasyaAllah…
